Sasha Banks: Women will eventually main event WrestleMania

Sasha Banks was the guest on this week’s ESPN “WWE Off The Top Rope” segment with Jonathan Coachman.

Coachman noted that Banks got emotional when she defeated Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship a few weeks ago. Banks said that her dream was to be in WWE and to be the Women’s Champion and she was emotional winning the title on the first show after the draft.

Banks said that her match against Bayley at last year’s Takeover: Brooklyn was the match of the year. She plans on doing it again this year against Charlotte at SummerSlam.

Coach brought up her cousin Snoop Dogg. Banks said that Snoop has been a supporter of her since she first told him that she wanted to be in WWE. She said it was a dream come true to have him perform her entrance song at this year’s WrestleMania and he is proud of her. She said that he also played a role in her development of her character as “The Boss.” Ironically, Snoop’s friends call him “The Boss.”

Coach talked about the Women’s Evolution documentary on the WWE Network. He asked if she thinks women will eventually main event a show like SummerSlam or WrestleMania in the future. Banks said, “We are not Divas anymore. We are Superstars. We are equal. We are proving every single week that we can do it better than the guys and I prove it every time I go out there. My biggest dream is to main event a WrestleMania and I guarantee you that is going to happen.”

Coach asked who she thinks will be the next breakout star within the next year. She said that it has to be Bayley and when she gets up to the main roster, she will show the world why she is the best.
