Scarlett Files Trademark For Ring Name Following WWE Departure

A former WWE star has now filed a trademark for a familiar ring name, according to a recent USPTO application. In August of this year, Karrion Kross and Scarlett parted ways with WWE after their contracts expired. Since then, both have become fixtures on the independent scene, competing under the names Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux.

A new filing indicates that Bordeaux is looking to secure the rights to the name she used primarily during her time in WWE. The real-life Elizabeth Chihaia-Kesar has filed an application for the term “SCARLETT”.

The application was filed on December 8 with the USPTO and covers the Goods and Services category of “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.”

This move suggests she intends to utilize the mononym “Scarlett” for her future bookings and merchandise, distinct from her full independent name of Scarlett Bordeaux. The duo has been active since leaving the company, with Kross recently revealing details regarding the contract negotiations that took place shortly before their eventual departure.

Although they are closely associated on-screen, Kross has previously addressed whether they are looking to be booked together exclusively on the independent wrestling scene. He indicated that while they enjoy working together, they are also open to separate bookings to maximize their opportunities.

There is also speculation regarding their future on a larger stage. AEW President Tony Khan has recently discussed the possibility of signing the former Karrion Kross to an AEW deal. While no official agreement has been announced, the free agency of both talents remains a topic of interest for wrestling promotions worldwide.
