WWE has released a new, high-end “Tribal Chief Championship Replica Title Belt” on its official shop, and according to new reports, the title was originally intended to be part of a major on-screen storyline for Roman Reigns before plans were changed.
The Scrapped Storyline
According to the wrestling news account WrestleVotes, WWE had internal discussions back in December 2024 about introducing a physical “Tribal Chief Championship” into the storyline between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. The new title would have been similar to the “People’s Championship” that was presented to The Rock.
However, the plans were ultimately altered. “This would have been the title presented to Reigns on Netflix had that decision gone through back in December,” WrestleVotes reported. “Now it’s a commemorative item”.
A Commemorative Item for “The Tribal Chief”
Instead of being used on television, the championship has been released as a premium collector’s item on WWEShop.com. The “Roman Reigns’s Tribal Chief Championship Replica Title Belt” is listed as a “Special Event Item” with a price of $599.99.
The product description encourages fans to “acknowledge the Original Tribal Chief Roman Reigns by carving out space in your WWE collection for this… Replica Title Belt.” While the “Tribal Chief Championship” storyline was scrapped, Roman Reigns made his shocking return to WWE on Raw. After a three-month absence, Reigns returned to make the save for CM Punk and Jey Uso from a post-match attack by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed and setting the stage for a major new rivalry.
