Sean Waltman Explains How His Surprise TNA Appearance Came Together

Sean Waltman clarified the circumstances surrounding his recent surprise appearance in TNA Wrestling, confirming it was a one-time event initiated by him as a favor to The Rascalz.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Waltman explained how the cameo came together. He revealed he reached out directly to TNA executive Tommy Dreamer ahead of the promotion’s nearby pay-per-view event. “I knew that TNA was going to be here… so I just hit Tommy Dreamer up in a DM, and I said, ‘Hey, if you guys wanted me to do something with the Rascalz, I would be happy to do it’,” Waltman recounted.

His motivation stemmed from his appreciation for The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz), noting their WWE NXT counterpart Wes Lee was also part of the original group. “They idolize me. They would have their gear inspired by mine, and just really good kids,” he said. TNA creative developed the segment based on his offer. “They came up with that, and I loved it. I had a great time. It felt good,” Waltman stated.

However, he shut down speculation about further TNA appearances. When asked if there were more plans, he responded simply, “No. That was it. I just wanted to give a little rub to the Rascalz and get in there and let people see I could still move around pretty good.”
