The premiere of the third season of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s HBO series “Ballers” pulled in 2,476,000 viewers on Sunday night. This up from the premiere of the second season, which did 1,585,000 viewers. The premiere of the first season did 2,162,000.
Johnson took to his Instagram account to comment on the success of the premiere of the new season. He mentioned that the episode was the highest rated half hour HBO show since the series finale of Entourage in 2011. He wrote the following:
“Thanks for rocking with us. (and setting new ratings records) You made this past Sunday’s premiere of #Ballers @HBO’s #1 highest rated half hour show IN YEARS. Since 2011. Up 41+% from last year’s #Ballers premiere. That kind of growth is very rare and I just want to say THANK YOU. Keep digging the rest of the season and ball out. @sevenbucksprod #Ballers.”
