Seth Rollins: John Cena Is On “Any Of The Mount Rushmores”

Seth Rollins is currently out of action after undergoing shoulder surgery, but he remains busy as the co-host of Good Morning Football on NFL Network. While sidelined, Rollins offered high praise for John Cena.

During the show, one of the fan questions sent in for Rollins was whether he would rather have Mick Foley or John Cena as a tag team partner. Rollins spoke highly of both men but focused on Cena, whose retirement tour is nearing its end.

Rollins On Cena’s Legacy

Rollins detailed Cena’s recent accomplishments and his place in wrestling history, calling him a mentor and a friend. “John Cena is on his retirement run right now. Recently won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career this past Monday on RAW, beating ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio. He’s a Grand Slam Champion,” Rollins said.

“He’s got two appearances left in his WWE career, Madison Square Garden coming up, and then Washington D.C., for Saturday Night’s Main Event in his final match. John is a great friend. He is one of the greatest to ever do it. You can stack him against The Rock, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan — any of the Mount Rushmores, John Cena is on them. He’s a great human being. He’s been a mentor to me… John, hats off to you. A great career, a better friend, a better performer. You’re the best, dude. I love you.”

Rollins is currently recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth during his match against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. As a result of the injury, Rollins had to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship and has stated he expects to be out of action for six months.

Cena’s historic Intercontinental Championship win did occur on the November 10 Monday Night Raw, making him a Grand Slam Champion. His final match is officially scheduled for Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C.
