Seth Rollins To Join Broadcast Team For Netflix’s ‘Skyscraper Live’ Special

Seth Rollins is set to expand his broadcasting portfolio with a role on an upcoming Netflix live special. Following his recent contributions to the streaming platform’s Christmas Day NFL coverage, Netflix has announced that Rollins will be part of the broadcast team for Skyscraper Live. The event, scheduled for Friday, January 23, will feature renowned climber Alex Honnold attempting to scale the Taipei 101 building in Taiwan.

The special is being touted as a high-stakes, real-time event. “One of the greatest climbers of all time, Alex Honnold, climbs Taipei 101 — one of the tallest buildings in the world — live on Netflix,” the platform shared in its official announcement. “Unlike prerecorded climbing documentaries, ‘Skyscraper Live’ unfolds entirely in real time. Viewers will experience every moment as Honnold ascends the iconic skyscraper, making this a true high-stakes live broadcast.”

Rollins will be joining a team of broadcasters for the coverage. Sports broadcaster Elle Duncan is set to host the special, with Rollins listed among the commentators who will contribute analysis and color to the broadcast. The team also includes professional climber Emily Harrington, popular engineer and YouTuber Mark Rober, and climber commentator Pete Woods. According to Netflix, “Together, they’ll guide viewers through the physical, mental, and technical challenges of the climb as it happens”.

Interestingly, the special is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Eastern time on January 23, placing it directly head-to-head with WWE SmackDown. Rollins, a Raw star, is currently sidelined from in-ring action due to a shoulder injury. The “Visionary” is reportedly hoping to recover in time to compete at WrestleMania 42, but in the interim, he continues to build his resume in sports media.

Beyond his work with Netflix, Rollins has become a familiar face in the sports broadcasting world. A die-hard Chicago Bears fan, he is a regular guest host on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, where he frequently debates football topics with the same intensity he brings to the ring.
