WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network, is slated to air a special titled “The Shield’s Final Chapter” at 9:30pm ET this Sunday night from the WWE live event in Moline, IL at the Tax Slayer Arena.
The Shield’s Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley will air.
Reigns returned to competition when he teamed up with Ambrose and Rollins to beat McIntyre, Corbin, and Lashley in a six-man tag team match that served as the headliner of the Fastlane pay-per-view event. This was hyped as the final match for the fan favorite group due to Ambrose deciding to depart from the company this month.
Rollins took to his official Twitter account where he promoted the special and a new t-shirt from WWE Shop. This is when he promised that this is the end of The Shield for a while.
Rollins wrote, “I’m pretty stoked about this weekend. Taking the black one more time with my boys…and in my own backyard. We’ve had a lot of “lasts” lately, I know, but I promise this really is the end for a while.”
