Seth Rollins has made his intentions clear for his eventual return to WWE, stating that his primary focus will be reclaiming the World Heavyweight Championship. The former champion has been sidelined since Crown Jewel, where he suffered an injury after hitting a coast-to-coast headbutt in a match against Cody Rhodes.
Although Rollins won that bout, the severity of the injury forced him to relinquish the title. Speaking to Clutchpoints, Rollins noted that he does not view himself as having lost the championship and plans to take it back from whoever holds it when he is cleared to compete.
“The primary [target] in my return will actually not be a person at all, it’ll be a thing. That would be the World Heavyweight Championship because I never lost the title, so I am rightfully the World Heavyweight Champion,” Rollins said. “I was stripped of that championship, and anybody who [is] in possession of that title, be it CM Punk, be it Bron Breakker, anybody who stands in my way, they will be dealt with.”
Rollins indicated that he is looking at a six-month recovery timeline. In the meantime, the title picture continues to move forward, with CM Punk set to defend against Bron Breakker on the January 5 episode of Monday Night Raw.
