Seth Rollins says Becky Lynch wasn’t comfortable with anything going into her match with Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had their highly anticipated match at Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event, which opened the show.

Their issues had been well-publicized through reports and even their comments in various interviews leading up to the match. They no longer have a friendship and even had a backstage confrontation at a SmackDown event last month following their championship exchange segment.

Lynch went over Flair in their champion vs. champion match. Seth Rollins, Lynch's husband, spoke with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport and noted that Lynch wasn’t comfortable leading up to it.

He said it’s one thing to wrestle at a high level after giving birth nearly a year ago, but it’s another thing to wrestle your former friend.

"When you have a falling out with your best friend, and I can tell you, legitimately, that's been a process that's been going on for years and it really reached a boiling point recently as all the reports have said. There was nothing about going into this match she was comfortable with and so I imagine it was an extremely cathartic experience for her.”

Rollins stated that he’s been out there and had matches with lesser tension with someone that has brought him to tears after the match. He assumed she’s in an interesting place because they had a really good match.

Rollins noted that it wasn’t awkward backstage for him because he feels like he’s in a leadership position and has been in WWE for so long. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
