Seth Rollins to vacate the WWE Championship, new champion to be crowned at Survivor Series

WWE Champion Seth Rollins has a torn right ACL, MCL, and medical meniscus and will not be able to defend the WWE Championship at Survivor Series against Roman Reigns. The news broke on Johnathan Coachman's twitter account this afternoon.

WWE will hold a tournament to determine a new champion. As we noted on Wednesday afternoon, Rollins was injured in his match with Kane when he tried to execute a somersault off the top into a powerbomb through a table. Rollins landed awkwardly and was taken to the backstage area with help from WWE trainers.

UPDATE: Rollins will be out of action for 6-9 months. For more, click here.
