The build towards Seth Rollins vs. Triple H was in full swing last weekend until a knee injury took Rollins out of the picture. Things did not look good and there was speculation that he would not be able to make it back in time at WrestleMania. It would have been another bad break for Rollins because the original plan for last year’s WrestleMania was for Rollins vs. Triple H but an injury put Rollins on the shelf last year as well.
WWE confirmed what Dave Meltzer reported last week about the nature of Rollins’ injury. On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, they confirmed that Rollins has a torn MCL and his WrestleMania match is “still in doubt.” What they did not mention that he is expected to be out 6-8 weeks. That would make it possible for him to return to action but they would be cutting it close and he would have to be approved by WWE’s doctors before he steps in the ring at Mania. My gut tells me is that he will wrestle at Mania.
Rollins was back in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday to visit with Dr. James Andrews. There’s no word on if this means that he will require surgery but if that turns out to be the case then that would almost definitely put him out of WrestleMania. We hope to have an update on Rollins sometime this week.
