WWE has already begun contacting some former Superstars for appearances during WrestleMania weekend.
PWInsider is reporting that WWE has reached out to JBL and he will be in Tampa during Mania weekend. JBL has been part of a few Kickoff show panels for some big events and that might be what he is being brought in for as there’s a 2-hour Kickoff show scheduled before WrestleMania.
PWInsider also reported that Hornswoggle and Santino Marella are booked for Mania weekend. Marella has been rumored to be part of WWE’s plans to launch an NXT brand in Canada. There is no word how far along they are with those plans.
Another name being booked for Mania weekend in Darren Young. He hasn’t been used since he was released by the company in 2017.
Aside from JBL likely being part of the Kickoff show, it’s not known why the other names are being brought in but the company likes to fly wrestlers in for meet and greets and the Hall Of Fame ceremony.
WrestleMania 36 is scheduled for Sunday, April 5th and will air live on the WWE Network.
Here is the schedule of WrestleMania weekend shows:
April 2 – WWE Hall Of Fame
April 3 – WWE Friday Night SmackDown
