Several WWE Main Roster Stars Announced For NXT Shows

WWE’s NXT brand is hitting the road for a series of live events in Ohio and Michigan, and the tour is getting a boost of main roster star power. In an announcement from NXT’s creative head, Shawn Michaels, it was revealed that #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) will be a part of the entire three-show loop.

Additionally, for the Detroit show on October 10, Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) will be making a special appearance in their hometown. The NXT tour is scheduled for the following dates and locations:

  • October 9th in Columbus, Ohio
  • October 10th in Detroit, Michigan
  • October 11th in Cleveland, Ohio

In addition to the tag team attractions, it was also announced that the reigning NXT North American Champion, Ethan Page, will be defending his title on all three nights of the tour. The tour is a key part of NXT’s developmental strategy, allowing the brand’s rising stars to perform in front of different crowds and hone their skills outside of the familiar confines of the WWE Performance Center.

The addition of #DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns is a perfect example of WWE’s new philosophy of integrating main roster and veteran talent into the NXT product to give me star power to the show and help younger talents learn. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are two of the most iconic stars in the history of the NXT brand.

The Motor City Machine Guns are one of the most influential and respected tag teams of the last two decades. This tour comes at a time when the “forbidden door” is wide open, as NXT is currently in a full-scale invasion angle with TNA Wrestling.
