As we reported last night here on the site, Roman Reigns and Alexa Bliss missed the show live event in Boston. In the case of Bliss, there are rumors that she may have suffered a broken nose at the show on Saturday night but that has not been confirmed. It could be an angle that would lead to her wearing a protective mask over her face to play off Trish Stratus when she wore a protective mask for her nose in 2005.
In Reigns case, he missed all of the live events and no reason was given. It doesn’t look like it was planned time off because he was advertised for the shows as late as Friday. We’ll pass along more information on him if we get it but he is still expected to appear on Raw. If that changes then we’ll pass along an update.
Rey Mysterio was also not at the live event in Boston but that probably has more to do with his limited schedule. Mysterio’s new WWE contract allows him to take more time off, similar to Randy Orton.
The revenue coming in from Saudi Arabia and the money coming in next year from NBCUniversal and Fox Sports will allow WWE to be more flexible when offering contracts to new and returning Superstars.
In the past, they were not willing to offer limited dates but they have somewhat softened their position on that over the years with guys like Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton.
