Several WWE wrestlers reprimanded for going over their time cues
PWInsider reported today that there’s been an edict in WWE about enforcing time cues for their broadcasts.
Mike Johnson noted that a number of talents were reprimanded in recent weeks at the Survivor Series pay-per-view and on the subsequent Raw and SmackDown shows.
Johnson also noted that some of the heat is with some of the producers who have had segments go over their allotted time.
Anyone who watches Raw and SmackDown knows that the shows are formatted in a specific way to peak the viewership at certain times.
They also do things during matches to keep people from changing the channel during the commercial breaks. For instance, they have teased several times having AJ Styles’ bodyguard Omos getting involved in matches before the break only to have him back at ringside as if nothing happened.
Despite the hectic nature behind the scenes with scripts being rewritten by Vince McMahon, it seems as if there are more reasons these days for the talent and producers to walk on eggshells because everything seems to be more micromanaged than ever.
