Shane McMahon is being considered as new lead writer of WWE Raw

There could be a familiar face being in charge of WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, if Vince McMahon goes through with an interesting idea.

According to a report from Alex McCarthy of Sportskeeda, McMahon is considering the idea of putting his son, Shane McMahon, in the role which would see him be the new lead writer of Raw. Of course, the WWE Chairman and CEO will still have the final say on the creative for the red brand.

The reason for this idea is due to Bruce Prichard being in charge of both Raw and SmackDown right now. He took over creative for Raw when McMahon decided to remove Paul Heyman as Executive Director. With Shane replacing Prichard on Raw, it would allow Prichard to have his primary focus on SmackDown.

The report noted that Prichard is “making no secret about the fact he’d like to lighten his workload and he’s been struggling with the long hours.”

It was added that Shane has worked far better with his father during his latest with the company.

It’s been reported that Shane was the person who came up with the idea for Raw Underground, which has elements of MMA fights that take place in the third hour of Raw.
