It appears that things did not get so bad with Shane McMahon and his father Vince McMahon that he is completely on the outs with the company.
Marco Masotti, the owner of South Africa’s Sharks rugby team, noted on Twitter that he met with Shane this week and he is “excited for a partnership between WWE and rugby.”
Masotti’s tweet was sent on Tuesday and notes that he met with Shane on the previous night (Monday) so this meeting was well after what went down backstage at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
As previously noted, Shane was removed from WrestleMania plans after he butted heads with his father on what Shane would be doing at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and beyond.
It has been reported that Seth Rollins was going to be Shane’s opponent at Mania but at this point, it looks like Shane will be facing someone else at the pay-per-view.
So grateful for a night out with brothers Shane McMahon (son of WWE Vince) and Doug Cifu (co-owner of Florida Panthers). Excited for a partnership between WWE and rugby. @WWE @SharksRugby @FlaPanthersBlog @Dougielarge @shanemcmahon pic.twitter.com/WyV2qLDlmb
