Shane McMahon recalls being scolded by The Undertaker’s mother before WrestleMania 32

Shane McMahon wrote a column about The Undertaker for ESPN’s website in order to promote Undertaker: The Last Ride, which is a highly praised documentary that airs on the WWE Network.

In this column, McMahon told a funny story about an encounter with The Undertaker’s mother in 2016. This was before their Hell in a Cell Match at WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium.

The conversation happened after they did an angle on Monday Night where McMahon apparently threw a stiff shot at Taker, which busted open “The Deadman.”

McMahon recalled Taker’s mom coming up to him at a dinner a few days before WrestleMania. He noted that he’s known her for a very long time and he asked her how she was doing before giving her a hug.

“Then she grabs me with both arms and stands me back. She says, in this Texas drawl, “You know, you’ve always been one of my favorites. However … you hit my son right in his eye and made him bleed. You went down a couple of notches in my book.” She was scolding me for this moment on the last Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania when we were going after each other.”

McMahon recalled looking over Taker, who was bowing his head very humbly and thinking how embarrassing this moment is. McMahon stated that “it doesn’t matter how bada** you are, there’s going to be a protective mother.”

McMahon also talked about his friendship with Taker, the documentary, their Hell in a Cell Match, and more. You can check out the full column here.
