Shane McMahon returns tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw

Shane McMahon will be making his return to WWE television by appearing on tonight’s episode of Raw.

WWE confirmed the news on Monday afternoon with a post on Twitter. The company didn’t provide a reason as to why he’s slated to appear on the show but it’s clear that they are looking for a hook to get fans to tune in and boost their declining ratings.

McMahon hasn’t been seen on WWE television since the premiere of Friday Night SmackDown after losing to Kevin Owens last October.

He lost a Ladder Match that saw the loser be forced out of WWE, which was done to write McMahon off of television as the company shifted to having no authority figures on their programming.

The only match that has been announced for the show is Apollo Crews defending the United States Title against MVP in the opening match. WWE is also advertising Asuka for tonight’s show and they are teasing that she is looking for revenge on new Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks.

UPDATE: Shane is returning after reports came out today about Vince being “volatile” and “chaos” backstage at Raw. Click here for the story.
