Shane McMahon was supposed to be part of the WWE Elimination Chamber match

Dave Meltzer revealed that Shane McMahon was supposed to be in the Elimination Chamber match in Saudi Arabia with the idea being that the match would lead to him facing Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. However, there was no mention of Shane being part of that match when Raw aired last night.

Meltzer said, “Shane McMahon was going to be in the Chamber and set up a feud with Seth Rollins for WrestleMania so I don’t know if that was going to be the championship match [at Mania] but whether it is or it isn’t, that was changed. So I don’t know how that relates to Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. This was gonna be the step to that.”

Meltzer also talked about the heat on Shane at the Royal Rumble and said that several people said something to him in passing after the show.

It’s unclear if plans for Shane have changed but as of now, he is not listed as being part of the Chamber match. The names announced for the Chamber match are Austin Theory, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, and Matt Riddle.
