This past Wednesday, WWE made their return to Madison Square Garden for a massive post-Christmas house show. The show included the return of John Cena and the first-ever women’s match to headline a wrestling show at MSG, as Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey defended her title against Nia Jax. However, another big match-up took place on the card as well.
Several NXT stars made their MSG debuts this week also. NXT North American Champion Ricochet, WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne, The Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black, and Matt Riddle all teamed up to defeat NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, and The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole and NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong).
WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels has been working with NXT stars at the WWE Performance Center, and as a producer for NXT lately. He took to Twitter and noted how proud he was to see the NXT crew working MSG:
