Shawn Michaels explains why he is coming out of retirement at WWE Crown Jewel

For the first time in over 8 years, Shawn Michaels will be stepping in the ring at WWE Crown Jewel. He will be teaming up with Triple H against The Undertaker and Kane. It’s a day that many fans never thought would happen but this doesn’t feel like as big as a WrestleMania return and Michaels likes it that way.

Michaels is happy to be part of things in WWE. He said, “I’m very thrilled after 30 years being in WWE I’m still having the opportunity to be a part of things that are happening for the first time.”

Michaels is thankful that this is a big deal for fans. He noted that there is no stress or anxiety tied to his comeback match at Crown Jewel because it’s not at WrestleMania.

“One of the reasons why I agreed to do it is it didn’t encompass all those things that I feel like a comeback sort of dictates,” Michaels said. He compared this to a cheat day. “It’s a very glorified cheat day.”

Michaels has said in previous interviews that he would only return if he got to work with his friends in a tag team match scenario because he doesn’t want to let the fans down and doesn’t think he can hang with guys like AJ Style and Daniel Bryan. We’ll see how he feels after the match. Perhaps he would be up for a major singles match at WrestleMania if all goes well on Friday.
