Shayna Baszler: ‘It Would Take A Bit, But CM Punk Came Back. Ronda Rousey Can Come Back’ To WWE As Well

Shayna Baszler believes that the door is never truly closed on a return to WWE for Ronda Rousey. Speaking on her former tag team partner and rival, Baszler suggested that if other major stars can return, Rousey certainly could as well.

“I never think Ronda is done,” Baszler said on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. “She’s a crazy person. I don’t know. She loves being a mom. It would take a bit, but CM Punk came back. Ronda Rousey can come back.”

Baszler also discussed her role in bringing Rousey to the world of professional wrestling in the first place. She recalled how Rousey would watch wrestling with her after MMA training.

“Ronda has said in interviews that she saw me pro-wrestle,” Baszler said. “She watched me fall out of love with MMA, pro wrestle, be happy, love it, and therefore fall back in love with MMA. I’ve heard her say that she saw that in me, and it made her want to try it… Ronda would just park herself on the couch, and then I would turn wrestling on, and she got sucked in. And yeah. Not saying Ronda wouldn’t have done wrestling if it wasn’t for me.”

Baszler also confirmed that she was aware their match at SummerSlam was Rousey’s final commitment to the company, as Rousey planned to expand her family.

“So I knew, because I’m very close with her,” Baszler said. “That was the last date on her contract, because she had planned to have another baby, and that was the plan.”
