Shelton Benjamin was supposed to return to WWE two months ago as part of the SmackDown Live brand, but things were put on hold when he underwent the standard WWE physical and learned that he had a torn rotator cuff. The injury happened a few months ago while he was wrestling for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. Benjamin’s expected recovery time is to be around six months so he should be returning during WrestleMania season in either February or March. WWE is now just waiting for him to get cleared and wants him back to put over younger talent.
Benjamin noted on his official Twitter account that he had been cleared to start rehab on his shoulder. He also mentioned that starting in November he will be available for appearances and autograph signings. He posted this on Twitter:
Starting in NOV I will be available for appearances/autograph sessions only(no physicality). Contact me @ [email protected]
