Former WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated where he talked about some interesting topics.
These include a handful of WWE Superstars who he thinks are underrated as well as Jushin Thunder Liger being his idol while growing up as a fan of pro wrestling.
“Honestly, most people in WWE are underrated. I can choose so many people. They have so much ability but can’t show everything on TV. Everybody has a great ability to wrestle, and you can see that at the house shows. Tye Dillinger, Shelton Benjamin, Primo and Epico, the Bludgeon Brothers, the New Day, they’re all underrated.”
Nakamura won the title by defeating Jeff Hardy at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on July 15th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which marked his first reign as champion. However, he lost the strap to Rusev last month on an episode of SmackDown Live.
Although the likelihood that he’ll get a rematch against Rusev for the title is good, he did express his interest in getting back to the WWE Title picture this year during this interview.
