Shinsuke Nakamura wrestled Ulka Sasaki on January 1, 2025, with a special entrance for his return to Japan.
Nakamura previously returned to the Japanese wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he wrestled The Great Muta at the Pro Wrestling NOAH The New Year event from the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, in 2023. The match was part of Muta’s farewell tour.
For this latest Pro Wrestling NOAH bout, Nakamura made a stunning entrance at the event, using his WWE theme music while wearing new attire and holding his WWE United States Title. Nakamura won the match.
After a long hiatus from WWE television, Nakamura returned in November to enter into a feud with LA Knight, which led to Nakamura going over to win the United States Title at Survivor Series: WarGames.
