SmackDown stars to play a strong role through WrestleMania after WWE changed plans

Fans of one tag team on WWE SmackDown will be excited to hear that plans for them being split up are no more.

The pairing

In recent months, Grayson Waller has been paired with Austin Theory. Waller was last seen in action on television when he lost to Kevin Owens on last week’s SmackDown.

This comes after Waller made a name for himself in NXT before being called up earlier this year. On the flip side, Theory has had his ups and downs in WWE, as he was called up to the main roster before being sent back to NXT during the COVID-19 pandemic. He later returned to the main roster with a big push by being paired with Vince McMahon on television, given a long run as the United States Champion and even beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39.

The report

WrestleVotes reported today that Waller and Theory were not planned to stay together for the long haul. However, after impressing officials, WWE nixed plans to split them up, and they will remain a unit through WrestleMania season.

With WWE getting behind them as a tag team, expect them to get more TV time and push going forward.
