Sol Ruca Vacates Women’s Speed Championship On WWE NXT

The NXT Women’s Speed Championship landscape changed dramatically on the October 28, 2025 edition of the show, as champion Sol Ruca made the difficult decision to relinquish her title due to injury.

Injury Update Provided

NXT General Manager Ava met with Sol Ruca backstage to discuss her recovery status. Ava relayed that she had spoken to Ruca’s doctor, who confirmed that Ruca is “making a lot of progress.” However, Ava also noted that the doctor remains unsure about a specific timeline for her in-ring return and emphasized that Ruca should not rush her rehabilitation. Ruca acknowledged she is still wearing a brace but pointed out that she no longer requires the crutch she was previously using.

Ruca Vacates the Championship

Given the uncertainty surrounding her return, Ava asked Ruca if she would consider appointing someone to defend the Speed Championship on her behalf. Zaria, standing next to Ruca, looked on, seemingly hoping to be chosen for that role.

However, Ruca made a different choice. Stating that the division “needs a fighting champion,” she decided to relinquish the NXT Women’s Speed Championship.

Zaria’s Disappointment and Ruca’s Vow

Zaria appeared visibly upset by Ruca’s decision, likely disappointed that Ruca didn’t trust her with defending the title. Despite this, Ruca remained focused on her recovery and future goals. She declared her intention to concentrate on her rehab and eventually return to the ring to reclaim “both titles she never lost,” referencing both the Women’s Speed Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Following Ruca’s statement, Zaria walked off.

New Champion to Be Crowned

With the title now vacant, Ava announced that a tournament to crown the new NXT Women’s Speed Champion will begin next week on NXT.
