WWE has only confirmed one match for the TLC pay-per-view but there are some obvious matches that will take place on that show if you are keeping up with their storylines. Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton is one of those matches but some storylines that are playing out on Raw and SmackDown may not pay off at TLC.
Ringside News reports that some of the matches that are being built up may end up on free TV. The Street Profits vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode is one match that is being built up and it’s likely that they will wrestle at TLC but as a source put it to RSN, the match could be given away on TV.
Another match that seems to be building for the TLC pay-per-view is Big E challenging Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Title. That is not guaranteed to happen at the pay-per-view and could instead take place on a future SmackDown show.
WWE has been doing this more frequently. For example, Jeff Hardy and Elias had their blowoff match on Raw this week. AEW oftentimes builds some matches to pay off on AEW Dynamite. They do that to get a ratings boost for their show and because they have so many wrestlers signed and they can’t get everyone on their pay-per-view events. In WWE’s case, they just want to give their weekly shows a ratings boost.
