On Tuesday, WWE employees were ordered to return to work full-time at company headquarters in Stamford, CT, whether at Titan Towers or the new building.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of the employees have been working mostly remotely. They will be going back to the office starting this Monday.
Pwinsider Elite reports that the news was greatly received negativity because it was dropped on them in an email from WWE CEO Nick Khan in the evening. It also doesn’t give them much time to prepare for a return to the office, especially for employees with young children, as they will need to figure out a new routine, child care, and other things.
Everyone must reconfigure their lives by Monday and get used to doing things the old way. Khan and Stephanie McMahon were the ones who instituted the full-time hybrid mode of home/office for employees last summer after Vince McMahon’s departure. The immediate reaction is that Vince McMahon made the change, although it’s unclear who made the decision.
Most employees who spoke with Pwinsider felt the world has changed and were far more productive working from home at their own pace than traveling to work and working from the office.
One employee stated that they used to spend the day waiting to get out of the office while at home it wasn’t an issue because they didn’t have to deal with various factors, whether traffic, “office politics,” and other things.
This adds to the stress for some employees worrying about post-merger layoffs soon when WWE merges with the UFC to form a new company.
