On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on William Regal.
Regal says he signed a 3-year deal but Meltzer said that he has heard that there is “something going on” with him. He also stated that “something is in play” but if he did sign a 3-year deal there is legally nothing he can do until 2025, unless Tony Khan somehow lets him out of his deal early.
Meltzer previously stated there has been talk about Regal returning to WWE. It’s no secret that Regal and Triple H have been close friends since the mid-90s and it was Vince McMahon’s decision, not Triple H, to let him go last year. On Saturday before the Survivor Series pay-per-view, Triple H tweeted out a video with clips of Regal making his trademark “WarGames” announcement.
