As noted several days ago, there was a match line-up going around on social media that listed Beth Phoenix and Natalya challenging The Kabuki Warriors for the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania.
There was no way to verify if the match line-up was correct or a photoshopped image but on Monday, WWE announced that Phoenix would be appearing this coming week on Raw so that gave some credibility to the leaked match card.
Dave Meltzer confirmed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Phoenix is indeed returning to the ring at WrestleMania so her appearance on Raw this coming Monday will likely set up her angle. It would seem like the match would not officially be announced until after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view since Asuka and Natalya are two of the participants in the women’s Chamber match.
Phoenix is yet another star who is not on the active roster being used on the WrestleMania card. She joins Goldberg, The Undertaker, John Cena, and her husband Edge (who signed a multi-year deal for limited dates. There’s also talk that Tyson Fury could be added to the card. It’s worth nothing that Natalya and Asuka were paired together during the contract signing segment that led to a brawl.
