This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with a segment between Edge and Drew McIntyre but Edge did not say who he will challenge at WrestleMania 37.
Prior to Raw going on the air, Dave Meltzer reported that the plan is for Edge to challenge Roman Reigns for the United States Championship.
Meltzer said that he did not know when that match will be officially announced but that is the planned main event for the show. Meltzer also noted that the Bianca Belair match is not 100 percent right now.
Edge returned to action last night as the 1st entrant in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. He outlasted 29 other Superstars, including the number 2 entrant Randy Orton, to win the match and to earn a shot at one of the top champions at WrestleMania.
During WWE Backstage on Saturday, Paul Heyman gave a “spoiler” and said that Reigns’ match will be the true main event of Mania 37 so it looks like Reigns vs. Edge will close out the show.
Reigns defeated Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing Match to retain his title at the Rumble pay-per-view and Bianca Belair won the Women’s Rumble match to earn a shot at one of the women’s titles.
WrestleMania 37 will take place across two nights on April 10 and 11 in Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium and the plan is for fans to be in attendance at a limited capacity.
