Spoiler for tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown

Tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center features a big title match.

AJ Styles is set to defend his WWE Intercontinental Title against Matt Riddle. This will be the first title match for Riddle on the main roster since making his debut.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that as of now there aren’t plans for Riddle to become Intercontinental Champion. Per the report, the plan for this week’s show calls for Styles to defeat Riddle and join in with Baron Corbin for a beat down on the former NXT star.

This would lineup with other reports as Riddle is reportedly slated to have his first program with Corbin.

Riddle was called up to the main roster last month when he interrupted an in-ring promo segment between Styles and Daniel Bryan.

This was done to set up Riddle beating Styles in a non-title match that was lengthy and competitive on the same show. For some backstage news on the filming process of this segment, click here.
