Pwinsider.com reported on Friday that Melina has inked a deal with WWE to make a return. Per the report, the company has been interested in bringing her back since earlier this year.
In fact, WWE tried to get her to return for an appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match back in January. However, that didn’t happen as she was still under contract with the NWA at the time.
It was noted that her deal with the promotion has expired, which is why she was able to negotiate a deal to make a WWE return.
WWE isn’t waiting long to have her back on television as the report notes that she will be returning to WWE programming within the next week.
Melina first started working for WWE in 2004 where she later made her way to the main roster as a manager for John Morrison and Joey Mercury. She would then transition into a full-time singles competitor in 2006.
Her last appearance on WWE television came back in July 2019 when she made a cameo on the Raw Reunion edition of Monday Night Raw.
