Brock Lesnar’s return at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view led to questions about his future with WWE since it was widely assumed that he would be taking time off to train for his upcoming UFC fight with Daniel Cormier.
We have learned that the deal for Lesnar to return at Hell in a Cell was done several weeks ago. Lesnar was originally scheduled to appear on the Raw after SummerSlam in Brooklyn, NY but they opted to wait until Sunday night. The story is that Lesnar was exacting revenge on Reigns because of the loss at SummerSlam and he got his revenge on Braun Strowman because it was Strowman’s distraction at ringside that caused Lesnar to lose the match at SummerSlam.
This morning on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Lesnar is scheduled to wrestle on the 11/2 show in Saudi Arabia. We have confirmed that the plan is for Reigns vs. Strowman vs. Lesnar in a Triple Threat Match for the Universal Championship. There’s no word yet when WWE will announce this match but we should know more tonight on Monday Night Raw.
If you are wondering why they would book Lesnar for that show, it’s because WWE is getting so much money from the Saudi Arabia government and they can afford to pay out more money to get top names. According to recent reports, Shawn Michaels is expected to wrestle on that show with Triple H as his tag team partner so it should be a stacked card.
Despite rumors to the contrary, we are told that the show from Saudi Arabia will air on the WWE Network.
