Tonight is the first episode of WWE NXT and the first live episode in two weeks as the developmental brand presents a stacked lineup for its New Year’s Evil special.
The show features NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams, NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria vs. Blair Davenport, the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament finals, and more.
Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro vs. Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, and Damon Kemp were originally booked for this show, but that was nixed once Lee announced he had to pull out due to a visa issue. The issue is expected to be resolved shortly, potentially as soon as this week.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reports that Carlito is at the show and was around ringside preparing to compete. It was added that, as of now, he is the planned teammate of the LWO.
