After months of build, the Sasha Banks vs. Bayley feud will culminate with a match inside of the Hell in a Cell.
WrestleVotes is reporting that Banks vs. Bayley is the planned main event for the show. This would be the second time that Banks has headlined a Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. She previously headlined the 2018 show with Charlotte Flair as her opponent. That was hyped as the first Hell in a Cell match featuring women.
Banks vs. Bayley have faced each other before but this would be the first time they’ve had a dedicated program against each other on the main roster. They also wrestled each other in 2015 on NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in a match that many consider to be one of the best matches in NXT history. It’s also a match that many say helped bring NXT up to another level from being seen as just a developmental brand to a brand that can stand against Raw and SmackDown.
No matches have been announced yet by WWE for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view but, based on the way things are headed with storylines, it looks like the top of the card will feature Bayley vs. Banks in the Hell in a Cell for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt for the WWE Universal Championship and Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship inside the Hell in a Cell.
