Spoiler on plans for WWE Title Match at WrestleMania 37

With it being reported last week that WWE had plans in place for the top matches at WrestleMania 37 except for the WWE Title, there was speculation as to who then-WWE Champion Drew McIntyre would face at the event.

Fast forward to Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event, The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to beat McIntyre for the WWE Title after McIntyre had retained it in the Elimination Chamber main event.

Most fans assumed The Miz wouldn’t be defending the championship at WrestleMania 37 since plans call for him to be in another high-profile match. WrestleVotes reported today that the plan right now is for Miz to not defend the WWE Title at WrestleMania.

It was also noted that Bobby Lashley, who had attacked McIntyre at Sunday’s show moments before Miz cashed in, would be in the title match at WrestleMania. The report didn’t state who Lashley would be facing at WrestleMania with the title on the line, but it appears to be McIntyre although that isn’t confirmed.

“It’s that time of year- LOTS of misinformation b/w sources, which happens around WM. However, from source: WWE Title match- The Miz is not scheduled to be involved. As of now, Bobby Lashley IS.”
