For those wondering what is up with The Authority, the plan is for them to feud with Shane McMahon. This is according to a report by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer newsletter. There is no word on when that feud will start but there was talk of kicking the storyline off in early May. It wouldn’t make sense to start things on Monday’s Raw since they are building towards the Payback show but, as noted earlier, WWE is teasing The Authority’s return for Monday.
Triple H was at Raw on Monday and he has been at every Raw post-WrestleMania so they have wiggle room to write him into the show on Monday if they feel it’s necessary. Last Monday’s Raw viewership was disappointing so there’s always the possibility that Vince will decide to pull the trigger on the storyline earlier than planned so they can get the rating back up. The current storyline with Shane McMahon running Raw has been strange because it made the WrestleMania match stipulation with The Undertaker meaningless.
The local advertising in Phoenix for Monday’s Raw does not mention The Authority. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, The Wyatt Family, AJ Styles, New Day, Alberto Del Rio, Ryback, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks are advertised for the show. Bray Wyatt is listed on advertising but he will probably not be there due to his calf injury.
