The Nia Jax-Becky Lynch incident from Monday Night Raw is turning into a blessing in disguise for Becky Lynch. She is out of Survivor Series but this setback has caused WWE to change plans for WrestleMania.
As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan is for the main event of WrestleMania to feature Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch. On Tuesday, when it was clear to everyone that Lynch would not be cleared for Sunday, Vince McMahon decided that Lynch/Rousey should take place at Mania. Charlotte Flair was the person rumored to be getting the big match with Rousey at Mania but that match will take place this Sunday, thus opening the slot for Lynch. This might explain why they decided to ditch plans to continue to portray Lynch as a heel.
Lynch and Rousey went hard at each other on social media on Wednesday and they have already begun to get some mainstream coverage with TMZ picking up on Lynch’s Twitter post about Rousey.
The ironic thing about all of this is that just a few months ago, WWE management wasn’t too keen on letting Lynch do long promos because they felt that her accent held her back. It turns out that she, along with Paul Heyman, is one of the best promos in the company.
