Jim Ross is returning to the the announcers table, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet. Ross will be providing play-by-play for a WrestleMania match.
Earlier this week on an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez noted that WWE did not mention Jan Ross on Raw or Smackdown Live. Dave Meltzer hinted that they had some plans for Ross but did not want to give anything away so this may be what he as referring to. Bringing in Ross for WrestleMania is a really cool thing to do for Ross and the fans so kudos to WWE for the nice gesture.
Ross was forced to retire back in 2013 but has continued calling boxing events and he does play-by-play for New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS TV. Hopefully, he will call one of the top matches on the show. There have been attempts in the past to get Ross to call a WrestleMania match. Both Shawn Michaels and Triple H are big fans of Ross’ work.
