SPOILER: Top WWE NXT star pulled from Takeover: Brooklyn 4 main event

The main event for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 has changed. As noted earlier, the groin injury that Aleister Black suffered is more serious than originally reported. Black underwent surgery last week and it was speculated that he would not be able to wrestle at in the NXT Championship match at Takeover: Brooklyn 4. WWE has been waiting to make an announcement because the storylines have yet to play out on television. Tommaso Ciampa was scheduled to defend the title against Black and Johnny Gargano.

PWInsider has confirmed that Black will not be at Takeover. There is no official word from WWE but it’s looking like the match will be Gargano challenging Ciampa for the NXT Championship.

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 will air live on the WWE Network on August 18 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
