As we first noted last night here on WrestlingNews.co, the plan going forward is for Roman Reigns to be a heel and the current booking plans are for Reigns to win the Universal Champion from “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt on Sunday at the Payback pay-per-view.
PWInsider is reporting that now that Braun Strowman is one of the top heels of the brand and with Reigns turning heel, the decision was made to have Wyatt be the top babyface of the brand.
Coming out of the Payback pay-per-view, Wyatt and Reigns will continue their feud and I’m told that it will be Wyatt chasing for the championship over the next couple of months.
As seen on Friday Night SmackDown, it looks like WWE will be continuing the storyline with Alexa Bliss and Wyatt since Bliss threw a tantrum when Wyatt’s name was mentioned by Nikki Cross.
Also, as noted last Sunday, there were plans to give Reigns an edgier vibe dating back to WrestleMania 36 with the idea being that he would ultimately get cheered by the fans. There was a realization by Vince McMahon that they couldn’t do the same thing they’ve been doing for years with Reigns so that is why the decision was made to turn him heel.
