SPOILER: WWE changes plans for the Extreme Rules main event

WWE has made a change to the plans for next month’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.

The listing on the arena website has Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman & Bobby Lashley vs. Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn as the main event for Raw. On the Smackdown side, they list Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass, which would indicate that things will not get settled between them on Sunday at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view.

However, according to new ads that aired locally during Raw this week, the new main event for the Raw side is Reigns vs. Mahal and Bryan vs. The Miz as the Smackdown main event. That would indicate that the Cass/Bryan feud would finish up on Sunday and we could see a screw job finish on Sunday between Reigns and Mahal to continue their feud. The local ad also mentions that Extreme Rules will be Ronda Rousey’s WWE debut in Pittsburgh.

The previous commercial that aired before the Superstar Shake-Up listed AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship. Obviously, Corbin will not be in the match since he is now a member of the Raw roster. The recent ad would be the most accurate reflection of what their current plans are. Those plans are probably locked in because the hype for Extreme Rules starts on Monday.

For those of you that have asked about Brock Lesnar, he is not advertised for the show.

Just to recap, as of now, here are the top matches scheduled for Extreme Rules (based on latest advertising):

Jinder Mahal vs. Roman Reigns
Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass
Ronda Rousey’s first WWE appearance in Pittsburgh
