WWE is sticking to its plans that were revealed a few months ago for Roman Reigns in the first quarter of 2023.
As WrestlingNews.co exclusively reported back in November, WWE had plans to do Reigns vs. Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble and Reigns vs. Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber event.
Reigns retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Title over Owens at the Royal Rumble. Post-match, The Bloodline beat down Owens, and when Zayn tried to talk Reigns out of hitting Owens with a chair, Reigns insisted that Zayn be the one to do it. Zayn hit Reigns in the back with the chair, only for Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa to attack Zayn.
Dave Meltzer also confirmed WWE’s plans to do Reigns vs. Zayn at next month’s PLE by writing in the Wrestling Observer Daily Update:
“Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn is now as confirmed as it can be for the 2/18 Elimination Chamber show main event in Montreal.”
It’s unclear what WWE has planned for the men’s Elimination Chamber match.
