As noted a few days ago, Samoa Joe looks like he is ready to return to action. He was backstage at Raw last Monday in Dallas and he has been cleared. This is just speculation on my part but it seems like he would be a good choice to be Braun Strowman’s tag team partner at WrestleMania to challenge for The Bar’s Raw Tag Team Championships but there is no guarantee that we’ll see Joe on TV before Mania.
However, it looks like we know what Joe be doing next month because he is advertised for live events against Roman Reigns. Since Reigns is expected to win the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar, it appears that Joe will be the first person to challenge for that title. Reigns vs. Joe is one of the main events advertised for the May 7th Nassau Coliseum show.
If WWE decides to wait to bring Joe back to TV until after Mania, then it would be the second year in a row that Joe misses the biggest show of the year. For those of you that have asked about Lesnar, don’t expect him to invoke a rematch clause in storylines because there is a good chance that he will be done with WWE after Mania. Lesnar is said to be serious about fighting again in UFC.
