SPOILER: WWE may end up revealing one mastermind behind both NXT invasions of Raw/Smackdown

The recent influx of talent from NXT to the main roster has fans talking. There are more women on the main roster than at any other point in WWE’s history. That is good news for the other women on the roster because they get to work with new people and it helps to freshen up the storylines.

On Monday, the returning Paige introduced NXT’s Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose and they proceeded to beat up some of the established women on the Raw roster in an invasion-style beatdown. The next night on Smackdown Live, NXT’s Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan beat up the Smackdown women and many fans noticed that both angles were very similar. Was it lazy booking by the writers or is there more than meets the eye? Apparently, there was an idea pitched that would reveal that Paige was also behind the beatdown on Smackdown Live. Plans always change in WWE but here is what was discussed, per Bryan Alvarez on the Bryan and Vinny Show:

“I don’t know if this is going to happen but I heard that one of the ideas they had was that it would come out that Paige was behind both invasions. How they would do that, I have no idea because there’s a Raw brand and a Smackdown brand [and] it doesn’t make any sense if they’re not doing the interbrand stuff except during Survivor Series. It would make sense for [the angle] to be exactly the same if Paige were behind it.”

I guess we’ll see how things play out over the next few weeks. Perhaps, this could be part of the build for the women’s Royal Rumble match that’s been rumored for months. That would be one of the rare occasions when we would see Raw and Smackdown talent in the same ring. Click here for more on the women’s Royal Rumble rumors.

On a related note, there are people in WWE worried about their spots because so many NXT wrestlers have moved up to the main roster this year. Click here to read more on that story.
