WWE taped tonight’s edition of NXT on Thursday, January 7th, 2016, from Winter Park, FL at the Full Sail University. Here are the spoilers for tonight’s NXT broadcast.
– William Regal announced that a battle royal will take place to determine Bayley’s next challenger for the NXT Women’s Title. This leads to Sami Zayn being brought out and he cuts a promo about wanting to be NXT champion for the second time. Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin interrupt and attack Zayn. The segment ends with Zayn clearing the ring and standing tall.
– Singles Match: Tommaso Ciampa defeated Danny Burch with an arm submission.
– Non-Title Match: Dash and Dawson defeated The Ascension.
– Singles Match: Elias Samson defeated Corey Hollis.
– Carmella won a battle royal to become the new #1 contender for the Women’s Title. Participants included Eva Marie, Deonna Purrazzo, Aliyah, Cameron, Peyton Royce, Alexa Bliss, Billie Kay, Liv Morgan, Emma and Asuka. Post-match, Bayley came out to congratulate her.
